Healthy Food Choices


This week we are educating the children on the importance of healthy nutrition.  We started by explaining the different food groups and discussed how our choices significantly affect our bodies.  The children learned that, even if they do not like the hot lunch, they can still have a nutritious and balanced lunch containing all five food groups. The  kids were also educated on the differences between whole grains and refined grains.  They learned what they both look like, which one is better for our bodies, and why!   I look forward to hearing good reports from parents and teachers as we 'reap the fruits' of learning about healthy lunch choices.

  1. Sara, Thanks so much for reinforcing what I'm trying to teach at home. I heard all about the nutrition lesson. Of course, it's much cooler coming from you! Christine is gravely disappointed that 4th grade only has PE once a week this year. She loves your class. Keep up the great work. We love you!!!
